Kovu stood with Timon and Pumbaa after the gorge was filled from the flood. They looked concerned.
"I'm sure Kiara wasn't in that flood when it went into the gorge," Timon said to Kovu.
"She wasn't. I know with my heart," Kovu replied.
Pumbaa moved closer. "You love her, don't you?"
"Of course," Kovu answered.
"All right. I understand. Fine. When you two settle down and have a family, we'll just find our own way," Timon said after some hesitation.
"Oh, don't worry, you two," Kovu said with a smile. "You'll have a place with our family too."
"Really?" Timon and Pumbaa chorused.
"Certainly. And you can help raise our cubs," Kovu declared.
"C'mere, you!" said Timon, and before long, Kovu, Timon and Pumbaa were nuzzling and hugging each other, pleased that the worst was over.
Before long, Kiara came up to them, and saw them all in the group hug. Timon looked up.
"Don't worry, Kiara, there's room for one more!" he announced.
With that, all four of them were hugging. Simba and Nala looked on
